Well, as I hope you've gathered from the image above, this was my wedding photography website. I was going to let the domain lapse as I have 3 other websites for my photography including my book cover stock and headshots photography. But I first registered this domain nearly 30 years ago so I thought it would be a shame to just let it go!
So I decided to keep it and use it for a blog and write about the things, and in particular images, that matter to me. I'll also use it to keep my favourite wedding images that I shot over the period 2008 to 2022 - most of which will be B&W as that was always the medium I loved and, I feel, suits the documentary wedding photography style I shot. I did after all, grow up in the era of film and shot predominantly on B&W film before going digital in 2003.
I know many photographers avoid wedding photography like the plague, regarding it as either too stressful or formulaic. I always enjoyed it. Yes - you are aware of the pressure of recording the most, or at least one of the, most important days of a couple's life but a bit of stress never did anyone any harm and it keeps you on your toes to do a good job. The formulaic aspect was never an issue for me as I shot weddings in a purely documentary style - ie I photographed weddings as they really happened - no set-ups, nothing staged, nothing directed by me - I always tried to capture the laughter, the tears and the genuine emotions of each wedding day – authentically, naturally and honestly. Well, apart from the odd request from the bride and groom and, of course, the bloody group shots - which everyone hates!
As I hope you will see from my images across this website, I tell the stories of weddings as they really happen – not staged or directed – just real. I capture the laughter, the tears and the genuine emotions of each wedding day – authentically, naturally and honestly.
I want each wedding couple I photograph to be who they really are and show what they really feel so I can capture that in images that will take them, their family and their friends back to those special moments time and time again.
Your wedding is unique and you deserve a creative and personal story that is uniquely yours, and I will capture that story in a beautiful, creative, but most importantly, an authentic way.
Nothing staged, nothing contrived, nothing directed – why would you want your wedding photos to look like everybody else’s?
My photography style is natural and creative and for the major part of a wedding I will document the day as it actually happens but I also love the opportunity to capture intimate portraits of the two of you together in a stylish and contemporary way.
From my base in Norfolk I have been covering weddings (Christian, Asian non-denominational, same-sex, large and small) throughout East Anglia for the past 12 years.
I hope you enjoy my images and if you'd like my style of photography for your wedding then please get in touch via my Contact Page for more information.
Moments To Be Remembered
As a documentary wedding photographer, capturing those special moments, connections, embraces and expressions that may never happen again is so rewarding. Capturing a moment in time and then preserving it in an image – that represents a permanent reminder of how it felt to be there at that moment.
Your wedding day is your day. I want to record what really happens on that day in an authentic, relaxed and natural way – no big production, no staged shots apart from the group shots which I get out of the way as quickly as possible so you can spend your day with your family, friends and everyone else important to you.
Yes, we'll sneak away to do some romantic portraits of the two of you alone together – but not for long - and from experience of many weddings, most couples actually appreciate that “two of you alone together” time.
Your wedding day will be a day you will look back on and remember throughout your lifetime. I want to create a unique and authentic record of that day in a collection of images that you will treasure forever.
