Sam & Matthew – Wedding at Dunston Hall, Norfolk: Nic Skerten Photography

It was off to Dunston Hall this weekend to cover the wedding of Sam and Matthew.  They had brilliant weather – I think it must have been the hottest Saturday so far this year!

We started at Sam’s parent’s house with Sam’s preparations along with her bridesmaids Nat, Beth and Kim (Sam’s sisters) and flower girl Harry (another sister) and pageboy Will (Sam’s brother) – not forgetting Sam’s Mum, Theresa and Dad, Jon.

All the girls looked absolutely stunning and even Will and Jon scrubbed up well.

Then it was on to Dunston Hall to meet up with Matthew and his best man Gel.  Matthew was sporting a really neat pair of personalised Nike trainers with pink “go faster” stripes that matched the colour of the bridesmaids dresses perfectly.

As Matthew hails from Wales there was a sizeable contingent up from Aberystwyth – the border controls had obviously been relaxed!

After the ceremony in the Fulford Suite the reception was held in the Marquee with drinks on the lawn and entertainment by the Mango Steel Band – very appropriate given the almost Caribbean-like weather we were having!  Music during the evening reception was provided by DJHunter.

I’ll cut it short there as I need to get on with processing all the images from the day.  The full gallery should be up by the end of Wednesday – it’s password-protected so get in touch with Sam or Matthew for the password.

Sam & Matthew – thanks very much for allowing me to cover your wedding day – it was a really great day.  Have a fantastic honeymoon in Thailand and I’ll see you on your return.

Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Lizzie & Richard’s Wedding

Another beautiful day on Saturday for Lizzie and Richard’s wedding up in North Norfolk. The ceremony was held at the beautiful St Margaret’s Church in Burnham Norton with the wedding breakfast and evening reception at Creake Abbey Studios. First stop, though, was at Lizzie’s godparent’s house in Burnham Norton to get a few pictures of Lizzie and her bridesmaids getting ready. Then it was off to St Margaret’s to meet up with Richard and the groom’s party.

After the ceremony it was off down to Creake Abbey Studios in North Creake where Lizzie and Richard had a marquee for the reception. On the way down from the church the three of us (plus the driver of their vintage Jaguar wedding car) stopped off at the Creake Abbey ruins to get some pictures of Lizzie and Richard on their own. It also gave them the chance to down a bottle of champagne.

Plenty of lawn games were available to keep the kids (and quite a few adults) amused during the day. These always give me the opportunity to get some candid pictures of the wedding guests enjoying themselves.

Lizzie and Richard had come back from Australia for their wedding and they had certainly brought the weather with them! After a few days in the UK they are off back to Oz. It was a lovely day and thank you both for allowing me to photograph your day.

Here are a few of my favourites from the day.

Lizzie & Richard – Pre-Wedding Shoot

Last Wednesday headed off to Fen Ditton in Cambridgeshire to do the pre-wedding shoot for Lizzie and Richard.  Yes, I know it was venturing into foreign lands but Lizzie and Richard had travelled all the way back from Perth, Australia for their wedding so I thought the least I could do was to venture outside Norfolk!

This was the first opportunity I had to meet Lizzie and Richard as they had booked me over the internet from the colonies in Oz.  They are a lovely couple and their wedding is in North Norfolk later in the month.

The location they had chosen for the pre-wedding shoot was Fen Ditton, down by the river where Richard had proposed on Valentine’s Day.

The images here are a selection from those that have gone into their wedding guest book.

Hannah & Wayne – Wedding

Last Saturday morning, with the sun blazing down, I set off to photograph the wedding of Hannah & Wayne. First stop was at Hannah’s parent’s house to get a few shots of the bride and her bridesmaid’s getting ready then on to South Walsham to meet up with Wayne. Wayne and a number of the guests were wisely taking advantage of the beautiful weather in the Ship Inn just a few yards up the road from St. Mary’s Church, the venue for the ceremony.

Whilst you couldn’t wish for better weather for the wedding, bright sunlight with clear blue skies around midday at the end of May isn’t the easiest of lighting for wedding photography – so shady spots such as the church porch were put to good use to get some softer, more flattering light.

After the ceremony it was off to the Oaklands Hotel for the reception where the Wedding Coordinator, Charlotte Kidd, and the hotel staff had done a wonderful job of getting everything ready.

Here are a few of my favourite’s from the day. A full gallery of Hannah & Waynes photographs can be found here.

Hannah & Wayne Pre-Wedding Shoot

Went up to Wells on Saturday to do the pre-wedding shoot for Hannah and Wayne. They brought their young daughter Abi, so the morning was more of a family lifestyle shoot than a pre-wedding shoot – but as it’s my opportunity to get to know the bride and groom a bit better before the wedding day, it wasn’t a problem. Abi is a lovely little girl – Hannah and Wayne spent most of their time darting about making sure she came to no harm around the beach huts.

We were blessed with good weather and as a bonus there were number of seals hauled up on the beach. Luckily for them, the fences had been erected to minimise disturbance, otherwise I’m sure Abi would have been tempted to get up-close and personal with them.

I’ve posted some of the images below that have gone into Hannah & Waynes photobook of the shoot. Hope you like them. A full gallery of images from Hannah & Wayne’s shoot can be found here.
